Mom Was Right

With COVID-19 changing our lives drastically, one of the good things coming out of it is the opportunity to learn a lot of lessons. Since I've been very much behind with my writing, I guess this is the perfect platform to tell my stories.

A few days back, my brother sent a link about hospitals treating patients with megadoses of Vitamin C. He put in a caption saying that mothers always know best. I went ahead and expanded that thought and came up with a few more tidbits about mom's wisdom and how it applies to the pandemic.

Eat a well-balanced diet

Remember Go, Grow, Glow?

Considering that there is neither cure nor vaccine for COVID-19 as of the moment, one of the most important things we can do is to make sure that our immune system is as prepared as possible by eating food that's healthy for us.

Of course amidst the strict quarantine measures, it's a bit more difficult. The upside is we get to be more creative when it comes to what we cook and eat.

Always take Vitamin C

While the direct role of Vitamin C in the management of COVID-19 is still a matter of debate, one undeniable fact is that it's essential in boosting our immunity thereby contributing to better overall health.

Wash your hands always

When I was way younger, washing hands was always a priority especially before meals. Unfortunately, throughout the years this has become less of a habit especially when in a hurry. Now, this has become a habit once again and I must admit an important one even without the threat of COVID-19.

A lot of people describe the pandemic as a great equalizer while others say it reminds us of what it means to be human once again. For me, it's also a testament of the wisdom that mothers seem to have when they used to remind us during our childhood days not to take for granted correct hygiene and having the right diet.
